School of Continuing Education Alumni Scholarship

The School of Continuing Education Alumni Scholarship is awarded to adult learners enrolled in the Bachelor of Arts in General Studies Degree Program (BGS) at Eastern Illinois University. Recipients must have completed at least 20 hours of coursework through the BGS program and maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Financial need is a primary consideration in recipient selection. Applicants are required to submit two letters of recommendation from EIU faculty members and write a two-page paper outlining their future goals and how their education will help achieve those goals, including a statement explaining why the funds are needed and how they will be used. This award is announced in the Spring and distributed during the following Fall semester.
