School of Divinity MLitt Scholarship

University of St Andrews Original Source

About This Opportunity

The School of Divinity at the University of St Andrews is offering a scholarship to MLitt students, with the aim of widening access to students from groups traditionally excluded or under-represented in academia. All MLitt courses in the School of Divinity are eligible. Two awards are available - one for Home students (£5,000) and one for Overseas students (£10,000). Awards are paid towards tuition fees and cover the duration of the course. In making decisions about the award of the scholarship, preference may be given to applicants from developing economies as defined by the United Nations, applicants who self-identify as members of excluded or under-represented minorities, those historically underrepresented in Divinity (students from ethnic minorities, students with disabilities, students who are the first in their family to attend university), applicants from socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds, and applicants with a household income of less than £34,000. Applicants must either be applying for a full-time MLitt course due to start in September 2026, or currently undertaking an online MLitt course continuing beyond September 2026. The scholarship is assessed based on both financial need and academic merit.
