About this opportunity

The School of Education Teacher Excellence Scholarship is awarded to incoming first-year students at UW-Milwaukee who meet specific academic and enrollment criteria. Recipients must apply to UW-Milwaukee by January 1, be admitted to the School of Education and enrolled in a Teaching Certification Program, earn a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.5 or higher, and commit to UWM by registering for fall semester classes by July 1. This scholarship is renewable for up to four years total, providing $12,000 over the life of the award distributed as follows: $2,000 in Year 1, $2,000 in Year 2, $4,000 in Year 3, and $4,000 in Year 4. To maintain eligibility for renewal, recipients must enroll full-time in a Teaching Certification Program within the School of Education and continue satisfactory academic progress toward program completion. The Teacher Excellence Scholarship represents a financial commitment from the School of Education to the student. The School of Education may replace the award for one or more academic years with a named scholarship of equal value, with notification provided via email if this occurs.
