About this opportunity
The School of Education Teacher Excellence Scholarship is awarded to incoming first-year students admitted to UW-Milwaukee's School of Education who are enrolled in a Teaching Certification Program. Students must apply to UW-Milwaukee by January 1, be admitted to the School of Education, earn a cumulative unweighted high school GPA of 3.5 or higher, and commit to UWM by registering for fall semester classes by July 1.
This scholarship is renewable for up to four years if recipients maintain full-time enrollment in a Teaching Certification Program, earn a UWM cumulative GPA of 3.5 or higher, and continue satisfactory academic progress. The total award amount is $12,000 distributed over four years: $2,000 in Year 1, $2,000 in Year 2, $4,000 in Year 3, and $4,000 in Year 4.
The scholarship represents a financial commitment from the School of Education to support students pursuing teaching certification. The School of Education reserves the right to replace the award with a named scholarship of equal value, with advance notification to the recipient.
