About this opportunity

The School of Medicine Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Accommodation Scholarship aims to support Indigenous students undertaking the Doctor of Medicine (MD), who come from one or more of the University's defined equity or personal disadvantage groups, with the costs associated with accommodation. The scholarship targets students experiencing financial or other hardship, including people from rural and isolated areas, people with a disability or long-term medical condition, and people experiencing long-term family difficulties. Students who are the first in their family to attend university will also be considered. Selection is determined on the basis of academic achievement, equity circumstances and interview performance. Shortlisted applicants will be required to attend an interview with a panel consisting of three staff members of the University and a member of the Aboriginal Community. The panel will take into consideration that all people have different needs and experience disadvantages that impact on their educational progress.
