About this opportunity
The School of Medicine Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders Accommodation Scholarship aims to support Indigenous students undertaking the Doctor of Medicine (MD), who come from one or more of the University's defined equity or personal disadvantage groups, with the costs associated with accommodation. This scholarship is open exclusively to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and targets those experiencing financial or other hardships including people from rural and isolated areas, people with a disability or long-term medical condition, people experiencing long-term family difficulties, and first-generation university students.
Selection is determined based on academic achievement, equity circumstances, and interview performance. Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend an interview conducted by a panel consisting of three University staff members and a member of the Aboriginal Community. The panel considers that all people have different needs and experience disadvantages that impact on their educational progress.
