About this opportunity

The Schwertfeger Scholarship supports students who study abroad in Germany or another German-speaking country during Summer or Fall semesters. Established by donors Ruth and Frederick Schwertfeger, this scholarship is designed to enable UW-Milwaukee students to pursue international educational experiences in German-speaking regions. The scholarship requires a minimum GPA of 3.0 and gives preference to German majors and minors, though any bachelor's degree student taking German classes at the Milwaukee campus is eligible to apply. Students must have their study abroad program approved through the UWM Center for International Education and must be abroad for a minimum of two weeks. The scholarship aims to help students meet their educational and professional goals through immersive international experiences that enhance their German language skills and cultural understanding.
