About this opportunity
The Science Centenary Fund Scholarship is a postgraduate research scholarship that supports outstanding higher degree by research students within the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney. Established in 1989 from funds raised through an appeal to graduates of the Faculty of Science, the scholarship marks the centenary in 1985 of the graduation of the faculty's first students.
The scholarship is valued at $5,000 and is tenable for one year only. It is awarded to PhD candidates who have completed an undergraduate honours degree (First Class or Second Class Upper) or Master's degree with substantial research component within the Faculty of Science at the University of Sydney in the year prior to commencing their research studies.
Eligible candidates must have an unconditional full-time offer to study a PhD within the Faculty of Science and must be in receipt of a primary scholarship from the University of Sydney that provides a stipend allowance. The successful applicant is selected based on academic merit and research potential as determined in their Research Training Program (RTP) application. No separate application is required as eligible candidates are considered automatically.
