About this opportunity
The Science Graduate Award (SGA) provides financial support to eligible graduate students registered full-time in research-based master's or doctoral programs in the Faculty of Science at the University of Waterloo. Awards are valued at a minimum of $3,375 per year, with amounts varying based on degree level and citizenship status. Students are automatically considered for this award throughout their eligibility period and may be nominated by their programs to the Associate Dean of Science, Graduate Studies without the need for a separate application. The award is designed to support graduate students in Biology, Chemistry, Earth & Environmental Sciences, Pharmacy, Physics and Astronomy, and Vision Science programs. Funding is provided for up to two years for master's students and up to four years for doctoral students, with higher amounts available for domestic students compared to international students. The annual award is paid out over three terms directly to the student's tuition account.
