About This Opportunity

The SECO Energy Youth Scholarship Program awards $4,000 scholarships to twelve exceptional high school seniors residing in SECO Energy's service area in Central Florida. The program is designed to empower local communities by supporting bright students who dream of attending a college, university, or trade school to jumpstart their career goals. SECO Energy seeks applicants who stand out in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and are keen on forging careers in energy-related fields. Emphasis is given to students aiming for degrees in technology, business, engineering, or mathematics, especially as they relate to the energy sector. Relevant majors include computer science, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical, nuclear, environmental, civil, agricultural/biological, industrial, materials science, and various branches of mathematics. The scholarship funds are made payable to both the student and the school and are distributed after the student provides proof of acceptance from a Florida college, university, or vocational/technical school. Scholarships are to be used for tuition and/or books and are non-renewable.
