About this opportunity

The Sedel-Collings Foundation was established in 2006 by Rae Sedel and John Collings with a mission to empower and sustain vital community services. Following the death of the founders in 2021, the Foundation is now run by four volunteer advisors who oversee careful management of the fund in line with the couple's wishes. This philanthropic organisation has partnered with Jersey Community Foundation (JCF) to support local charities and voluntary organisations. The Foundation concentrates its giving on critical areas to ensure funds have a meaningful and lasting impact, including care leavers, violence against women, supporting charitable volunteers through safeguarding and supervision, youth mental health, men's mental health, suicide prevention, loneliness reduction, and bereavement support. Applications for the fund are considered within the Community Fund. Grants are available to constituted groups including community groups, voluntary organisations and charities to help build and support initiatives that meet the Foundation's priorities and have a lasting effect. The Foundation provides support ranging from helping children and young people transitioning out of care homes to funding initiatives that prevent violence against women and provide support to survivors, as well as addressing mental health issues across different demographics.
