About This Opportunity

The Selby Scholarship program is available to graduating high school seniors from Sarasota, Manatee, Charlotte, or DeSoto counties in Florida who plan to attend an accredited college or university full-time to complete a four-year bachelor's degree. The scholarship is designed to support students with exceptional financial need and strong academic performance. Awards are based on demonstrated financial need, a minimum 3.0 unweighted GPA, transcripts, letters of recommendation showing evidence of personal growth potential, essays outlining personal values and future plans, and a personal interview with community leaders. The scholarship is renewable for up to four years as long as students maintain a 3.0 GPA and full-time enrollment. A unique feature of the program is that award amounts can vary each year based on the student's current financial need, ensuring optimal support throughout their college career. Recipients also have access to the Selby Scholar Match Mentoring Program, which pairs students with local community leaders in their chosen fields for mentorship and networking opportunities.
