About this opportunity
The Senior Women Academic Administrators of Canada (SWAAC) Graduate Student Award of Merit recognizes outstanding women graduate students who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in the university or general community while maintaining an exemplary academic record. At least four awards are awarded annually, with a value of $4,000 each. The awards are open to women registered in Master's or PhD programs at any Member Institution of AUCC within designated regions that rotate annually: Western Provinces, Quebec, Atlantic Provinces, and Ontario. Candidates must demonstrate outstanding academic performance and evidence of leadership, including executive positions in student organizations, participation on committees, organization of special events or conferences, involvement in advocacy groups, and involvement in volunteer organizations within the campus setting or in the general community. Each university in the designated region may nominate one person for the award through their Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research.
