About this opportunity

The SENSS Student Led Studentship program enables students to work on research projects they have developed themselves, guided by an expert academic supervisory team. The project may involve working with a collaborative partner such as a business, charity, or think tank who provides researchers with access to data, equipment, participants, additional funding, supervisors, and/or placement opportunities. SENSS is seeking interesting research ideas that will provide new knowledge in their academic field and help address major challenges facing Britain and the world. The program particularly encourages applications from students with backgrounds aligned with SENSS's equality and diversity policy, including those from particular ethnic backgrounds, less affluent areas, students with disabilities, carers, and those who have been in care. Applications focusing on Data Skills or Advanced Quantitative Methods (AQM) are especially welcome, with six studentships ring-fenced for these areas annually. SENSS positively encourages applications from talented students holding undergraduate degrees only, who will receive financial support for both a Masters and PhD.
