About this opportunity
The SfAA/AAA Margaret Mead Award recognizes outstanding contributions by younger scholars in anthropology that have had significant impact on relevant publics beyond the discipline. This joint award from the Society for Applied Anthropology and the American Anthropological Association honors work that demonstrates intellectual quality, clarity and understandability, and both depth and breadth of impact. The award is presented annually to scholars who have received their PhD within the past ten years. Winners receive a plaque and stipend, with the award announced at the AAA Annual Meeting and presented at the SfAA Spring meeting.
