About this opportunity
The SG and JG Scholarships are foundation scholarships offered at Federation University Australia's Mt Helen campus in Ballarat. Named after Shesh Ghale and Jamuna Gurung, co-founders of Melbourne Institute of Technology, these scholarships support students who identify as women or female pursuing higher education. The scholarship provides $7,000 in financial support to new or commencing domestic students.
Shesh Ghale is the Chief Executive Officer of Melbourne Institute of Technology, and together with Jamuna Gurung established MIT in 1996. The Institute has since become one of Australia's leading private higher education providers. Shesh's journey from Nepal to Australia, including his own experiences with scholarships, has fostered a passionate commitment to education that drives this scholarship program.
Three scholarships are available annually, supporting students undertaking Bachelor, Honours, or Postgraduate studies at the Mt Helen location. This scholarship reflects the founders' dedication to providing educational opportunities and supporting women in higher education.
