About This Opportunity

This funding opportunity supports research to advance sustainable, resilient, and ethically responsible livestock and aquaculture systems across Europe. The program is part of the European Partnership on Animal Health and Welfare (EUPAH&W) and focuses on animal welfare and prevention and control in livestock and aquaculture contexts. Applications must be collaborative and international in nature, requiring a UK team and at least two eligible partners from at least two different member country co-funders. The UK components will be funded by BBSRC (Biotechnology and Biological Sciences Research Council), while partner research organisations will receive funding from their corresponding national agencies. Projects should contribute to advancing knowledge and practices in animal health and welfare, with a particular emphasis on creating sustainable and ethically responsible systems. The program encourages interdisciplinary approaches and international collaboration to address challenges in livestock and aquaculture health and welfare across Europe. The funding opportunity is open to UK-based researchers at organisations eligible for BBSRC funding, working in partnership with eligible international collaborators from the participating European countries.
