Sheridan E. Brown Memorial Scholarship

The Sheridan E. Brown Memorial Scholarship is awarded by the Sarasota Chorus of the Keys through the Education Foundation of Sarasota County. This scholarship provides financial support to male high school seniors in public and private high schools located in Sarasota and Manatee Counties with outstanding musical achievement. Recipients must plan to attend college and include a course of vocal music as part of their curriculum. Up to three scholarships may be awarded annually, ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 each. The scholarship recognizes students with a record of achievement in vocal music participation and performance in school, church, or other outside organizations. Academic performance and outside activities are also considered in the selection process. The application may include an interview with the Scholarship Selection Committee, and successful applicants are requested to attend a short presentation during a Chorus Rehearsal.
