About this opportunity
The Sid Feiler Memorial Scholarship honors Sid Feiler, who served as vice principal at Allderdice High School for 30 years and cared deeply for the students he served. He was greatly respected by faculty and parents throughout his career. Sid and his wife Connie were both born and raised in Squirrel Hill and attended Allderdice High School.
Since his passing in January of 2019, Connie, her family and members of the Allderdice community established this scholarship in his memory. The scholarship supports graduating seniors of Allderdice High School who are planning on pursuing post-secondary education.
The scholarship provides an average award of $1,000 as a single-year award to students who demonstrate financial need, maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5, and plan to attend an accredited vocational or technical trade school or 2- or 4-year college or university. Applicants must reside in Pittsburgh, PA.
