About This Opportunity

The Sir James Gunson Scholarship was founded in 1925 by Sir James Henry Gunson, CMG, CBE, Mayor of Auckland 1915-1925. The scholarship was endowed from a presentation sum of Stg1300 given to him by the citizens of Auckland upon his retirement from the Mayoralty, which he donated to the University for the endowment of Scholarships for research in Agriculture. This scholarship provides assistance for agricultural investigation and supports postgraduate students conducting research in agricultural, horticultural, or dairying science. The scholarship is awarded annually to one recipient for a tenure period of up to two years, with a value of $1,250 per annum. It is specifically designed for students pursuing an MSc or PhD in Agricultural, Horticultural or Dairying Science at the University of Auckland.
