About this opportunity
This Scholarship has been established to honour Sir Maurice Byers and will be awarded by the University of Sydney Law School to a deserving student to pursue postgraduate research study in the field of constitutional law at the Sydney Law School. The scholarship is funded by a donation made to the University of Sydney in memory of Sir Maurice Byers. The scholarship aims to attract top candidates who have well-developed research projects and who would be competitive at top international institutes of higher learning, to do their research degree at the Sydney Law School. This scholarship can be awarded as either primary or supplementary scholarship providing stipend allowance or a one-off payment, with values ranging from $2,000 to $10,000 per annum for up to 1 year or as a one-off payment. Successful candidates will be selected based on academic merit and their area of study and/or research proposal, with preference given to commencing candidates, though currently enrolled students demonstrating progress towards timely thesis completion and exceptional research achievements may also be considered.
