Sir Paul Callaghan Doctoral Scholarship in Chemistry and Physics

The Sir Paul Callaghan Doctoral Scholarship in Chemistry and Physics is designed for domestic physics and chemistry doctoral students undertaking PhD studies within the School of Food Technology and Natural Sciences, College of Sciences at Massey University. Established from the proceeds of the sale of Magritek business, founded by Professor Sir Paul Callaghan, this scholarship honors a world-renowned scientist and physicist who believed that inspired entrepreneurs can change New Zealand as a country. The scholarship supports students enrolled in or intending to enrol in a PhD in the discipline of Physics or Chemistry, researching a topic that has the potential to contribute to New Zealand's economy. The award provides $105,000 over 3 years' duration for full-time doctoral study at the Manawatu campus. Eligibility is restricted to New Zealand citizens or permanent residents who have admission into, or are studying within the first 12 months of, a PhD program.
