About This Opportunity

The Sir William Tyree Engineering Scholarship is designed to support commencing Bachelor of Engineering students at RMIT University. This prestigious scholarship provides $16,000 per year for up to five years, totaling up to $80,000 over the duration of study. The scholarship is available to Australian citizens, permanent residents, or permanent humanitarian visa holders who are commencing first year full-time study in a Bachelor of Engineering program (single or double degree). To be eligible, students must have completed Year 12 VCE in a Victorian secondary school with a minimum ATAR score of 80. A key requirement is demonstrating circumstances that impact the ability to study, such as receiving government benefits, living with a disability or medical condition, experiencing personal difficulties, relocating from rural or regional areas, living in foster care, or being from under-represented backgrounds including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, refugees, or students from non-English speaking backgrounds. The scholarship particularly welcomes applications from students who are from rural or regional areas who have relocated to study, or those studying electrical or mechanical engineering. Three scholarships are available each year. Recipients cannot hold another concurrent scholarship (except accommodation-based scholarships). The scholarship is awarded through a competitive application process that includes evaluation of academic achievement, personal circumstances, leadership potential, and career aspirations.
