Skrivarinternat för forskarstuderande (Writing Retreat for PhD Students) is a scholarship opportunity offered by Lärarstiftelsen in collaboration with Sveriges Lärare. The program provides PhD students, licentiates, or recent doctoral graduates whose research focuses on schools, teaching, or learning with uninterrupted writing time at Fjällgården in Åre, Sweden. The 10-day retreat offers a dedicated environment for scholarly writing and the opportunity to interact with other researchers in the field. A professor from Sveriges Lärares vetenskapliga råd (Swedish Teachers' Scientific Council) is present during part of the stay for reflection and discussion. The scholarship includes accommodation and meals at Fjällgården plus a travel grant of 1,000 SEK. Selection criteria emphasize the contribution to the development of the teaching profession and research quality. Priority is given to applicants who have not previously received a writing scholarship, though individuals may be awarded the scholarship once as a doctoral student and once as a newly graduated doctor. The scholarships are awarded once per year during the September-October period.
