Small Research Grants

UFAW Small Research Grants support smaller research projects up to £5,000 for the benefit of animal welfare. The program is concerned with the welfare of farm, companion, laboratory, captive wild animals, and free-living wild animals whose welfare is compromised by humans. Animal welfare must be the main focus of the research project. The grants are open to all individuals and organizations worldwide to support scientific research projects that improve or advance the welfare of animals. Applications are assessed on their merits for animal welfare, scientific quality, and in relation to other applications received or already funded. Completed application forms are accepted throughout the year on a rolling basis, though requests must be submitted at least two months before the project start date.
