About this opportunity

The Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology Alumni Scholarship at Eastern Illinois University supports full-time students majoring in Sociology or Criminology-Criminal Justice. This scholarship recognizes academic excellence and demonstrated responsibility among students who have completed substantial coursework in their field. Recipients must maintain a strong academic record with both cumulative and major GPAs of at least 3.0, and have completed a minimum of 18 credit hours in Sociology, Anthropology, or Criminology-Criminal Justice coursework. The scholarship particularly values students who demonstrate responsibility through part-time work to support their education or regular volunteer service with university or community organizations. Excellence in writing is a key criterion, as applicants must submit a quality research paper written for a course within the Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Criminology. The award is announced in the Spring semester and paid in the Fall semester, and recipients may receive the award again in subsequent years if they continue to meet all eligibility criteria.
