About this opportunity
The Solomon Ratt Indigenous Language and Literacy Scholarship is offered by First Nations University to support Indigenous students pursuing education in Indigenous languages. This scholarship is designed to promote and preserve Indigenous languages including Cree, Dakota, Dene, Nakota, Mowhawk, and Anihšināpēmowin. The scholarship is available to students of Indigenous ancestry who are pursuing arts or education degrees with a major or minor in eligible Indigenous languages, or who are enrolled in Indigenous language-focused programs such as Indigenous Language Revitalization Program, Extended Studies in First Nations Language, First Nations Certificate in Indigenous Language, Certificate in Language Guardianship, or Bachelors of Indigenous Education. This funding opportunity supports the critical work of Indigenous language preservation and revitalization through educational advancement.
