About this opportunity
A generous donation from the Sophia Fund has enabled the establishment of the Sophia Fund Indigenous Bursaries. These bursaries have been established to encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to undertake a higher education course. The program supports first-year Indigenous students enrolled full-time in undergraduate courses at Flinders University.
Applicants must be of Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, identify as an Australian Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander, and be accepted as such by the community in which they live or have lived. The bursaries provide financial support of approximately $500 total for one year of study. Two scholarships are offered per year to help students pursuing studies in any area at Flinders University in South Australia.
Applications are submitted online through the Flinders University Student Information System, where applicants complete the Indigenous Scholarships application form. Students will be considered for multiple scholarships through this single application. The program aims to increase participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students in higher education and support them during their critical first year of university study.
