Southampton History Patricia Mather and Helen Patterson Scholarship

The Southampton History Patricia Mather and Helen Patterson Scholarship provides financial support to UK students and others who pay home fees studying for a postgraduate master's degree in History at the University of Southampton. This competitive scholarship awards £9,250 off tuition fees for the first year of postgraduate study. Up to 2 scholarships are available annually. The scholarship is awarded through a rigorous three-stage shortlisting process, including eligibility verification, review of the postgraduate application, and a final decision by a panel chaired by the Head of History or their nominated representative. Applicants must demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, exceeding course entry requirements with a mid 2:1 or higher (65% or over) in undergraduate studies and a first in their dissertation.
