About This Opportunity

The Southampton MA Holocaust scholarships, also known as Sayers Family scholarships, are offered by The Parkes Institute for the Study of Relations between Jews and non-Jews at the University of Southampton. Two scholarships of £2,000 each are available to students applying for the MA Holocaust: History, Experience, Heritage program in 2026. The scholarships are designed to reduce tuition fees for both UK and international students who demonstrate strong academic credentials and research interests aligned with the Institute's focus on Jewish/non-Jewish relations and use of Special Collections. Recipients must have achieved a 2:1 (65% minimum) or equivalent qualification in their undergraduate studies and must not be receiving an external scholarship. The application requires a 500-word personal statement explaining research interests, professional experience and ambition, and why applicants want to study at the Parkes Institute. Financial need is considered but is not a major determining factor. The quality of application and relevance of research project to the broad remit of the Institute are the primary considerations in the award decision.
