SPECEF General Scholarship & B. Hanson Leadership Award

The Society of Petroleum Engineers Canadian Educational Foundation (SPECEF) awards multiple scholarships annually to students across Canada pursuing degrees or diplomas with intentions to enter the energy industry. The scholarships are open to full-time students at all Canadian institutions studying any discipline with an interest in the energy sector. Recipients are selected through a competitive process based on academic standing and outstanding contributions through volunteer extra-curricular activities. Applications are also automatically considered for the Barry Hanson Leadership Award, which specifically recognizes engineering students who demonstrate revolutionary leadership in their community or school. The award was created to honor a founding SPECEF member's 35+ years of dedication to the organization. Applicants must be SPE members, hold satisfactory academic standing, and demonstrate significant volunteer involvement. The scholarship is open to global citizens with exceptions for U.S. sanctioned countries, and does not require Canadian citizenship or permanent residency.
