Spillemidler

Spillemidler are grants from the surplus of Norsk Tipping (Norwegian gaming operator) to support the construction and rehabilitation of sports, outdoor recreation, and local community facilities. The program aims to enable a larger portion of the population to participate in sports and physical activities. Grants are available for new sports and outdoor facilities, rehabilitation of existing facilities, and local community facilities (nærmiljøanlegg). The funding scheme has two main categories: ordinary facilities which can receive up to 1/3 of approved costs (with additional percentages for certain areas and inter-municipal projects), and local community facilities which can receive up to 50% of approved costs with a maximum of NOK 300,000 per facility unit. Applications must be submitted electronically through www.anleggsregisteret.no by October 1st annually. The municipality prioritizes applications before forwarding them to the county council, which makes the final allocation decisions.
