Sports Scholarships Scheme - September 2026 entry

The University of Kent is committed to delivering sporting excellence and offers scholarships to students with outstanding sporting ability at both Canterbury and Medway campuses. Scholarships are available to outstanding student athletes from any sport who compete at least at county level or equivalent, with Elite Scholars expected to be representing nationally and competing internationally. Sports Scholars are committed to representing the University of Kent in British University & College Sport (BUCS) competition and joining their relevant student club. The amount offered is determined by the University Sports Scholarship Committee on a case-by-case basis. The scholarship includes financial support, access to sports physiotherapy and rehabilitation through the Kent Sport Clinic, inclusive Kent Sport Membership, weekly coach-led strength and conditioning, and various other benefits including scholarship events, ambassadorial opportunities, and exclusive training attire. Elite Scholars may receive enhanced financial support ranging from £1,500 to £5,000 per year. The scheme is open to new international and domestic undergraduate and postgraduate applicants, as well as current University of Kent students, though it is not available to international students taking a foundation year.
