About this opportunity

The SREA Scholarship for Future Educators is offered by the Sarasota Retired Educators Association (SREA) to support students planning a career in education. Applicants must be graduating high school seniors in 2026 or previous year recipients currently attending college. Recipients are expected to teach in Florida for the year following college graduation. Scholarships range from $500 to $1,000 and are awarded directly to students at a celebration luncheon that includes parents. Priority is given to students who are unable to fulfill their goal of becoming a teacher without financial assistance. Four awards are available annually. The scholarship is renewable for previous recipients who maintain a 3.0 GPA in college and reapply. Applicants must be Sarasota County students and Florida residents with a minimum 3.0 GPA and minimum standardized test scores of 1000 SAT or 22 ACT.
