About this opportunity
The SSHRC Canada Graduate Research Scholarship Doctoral (CGRS-D) is awarded to outstanding Canadian students pursuing doctoral studies in the Humanities and Social Sciences. This prestigious national scholarship recognizes academic excellence and research potential in SSHRC-eligible fields. The program provides substantial financial support for three years of doctoral study at eligible Canadian institutions. Recipients benefit from both the core SSHRC funding and an additional institutional bonus from the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research (FGSR). The scholarship supports full-time doctoral research across disciplines including anthropology, education, psychology, social work, and many other humanities and social sciences fields. Up to 15% of awards across Canada are available to international applicants who are enrolled in their doctoral program at an eligible Canadian institution by the application deadline. Indigenous students are strongly encouraged to apply and can be nominated above the regular institutional quota.
