About This Opportunity

The St Andrews Access Award was established to provide financial assistance with the cost of studying at the University of St Andrews. Depending on household income, eligible students could receive a non-repayable guaranteed award for the duration of their undergraduate course. The Access Awards are based on financial need, with students demonstrating below-average household income and a need for funding. Applicants with a household income less than £34,000 can apply once to be considered for various awards, including a monthly maintenance allowance, a contribution towards university or private accommodation, and a sports membership discount. Scholarship applications are particularly welcome from widening participation applicants including those living in SIMD decile 1-4 areas, care experienced students, estranged students, asylum seekers or refugees, and young carers. The award values vary based on household income, with care experienced students receiving the highest guaranteed award of £4,915 annually. The Access Award is paid annually for the duration of the undergraduate programme and may be funded from University, donor or external sources, including Wardlaw Scholarships and The Robertson Trust Scholarship.
