St Andrews Society of New York State Scholarship Fund

The St Andrews Society of New York State offers scholarships to enable Scottish graduates to study for one year in the United States. For the 2024-25 academic year, the Society will offer up to two scholarships of up to $35,000 each, totaling $70,000. The monetary value of each scholarship is applied first to payment of tuition fees at universities within 250 miles of New York City or within the Washington DC area. Preference is given to candidates with no previous US experience for whom study abroad can be expected to be a life-changing experience. Selection is based on an all-round assessment including character, experience, and academic achievement. Scholars are expected to serve as good ambassadors for Scotland and maintain contact with the Society through informal reports and ongoing engagement.
