About This Opportunity
Established in 2016, this scholarship is based on the foundational principles of St John of God Health Care NSW Services to support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander nursing and allied health students at Australian Catholic University. The St John of God Health Care Reconciliation Action Plan expresses the desire to work collaboratively and respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in the process of Reconciliation, with a goal of fostering career opportunities within the mental health care sector. The scholarship provides financial support totaling approximately $20,000 over three years for eligible students enrolled in Bachelor of Nursing, Bachelor of Nursing/Paramedicine, Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, or Masters of Psychology (Clinical) at ACU campuses in North Sydney, Strathfield, or Blacktown. Recipients are offered optional paid work in the first year, consisting of a minimum of two shifts per fortnight during university terms or as per hospital requirements at one of the two St John of God Health Care Mental Health facilities. The organization will be supportive of the recipient's preference and location where possible.
