About this opportunity

The St John's College Bonifant and Mana Families Residential Scholarship is part of the UQ Residential Scholarships Scheme at the University of Queensland. Established in 2024 by St John's College and the Bonifant and Mana Families under the Create Change Scholarship Initiative, this scholarship supports domestic undergraduate students experiencing financial hardship with the cost of residential fees at St John's College. The scholarship provides $4,500 annually (subject to the annual distribution from the relevant fund and may be more or less in some years) for one year to help cover accommodation costs. It is designed to assist students who are enrolled full-time in an approved program and are residents at St John's College. Preference is given to applicants who can demonstrate activity and engagement in areas such as sports, music, dance, artistic pursuits, and entrepreneurship. The scholarship emphasizes supporting students from rural or remote areas who face financial barriers to accessing quality residential accommodation while pursuing their undergraduate studies. Applicants must provide documentary evidence of financial hardship, such as Centrelink statements, ATO statements, or family income documentation. Only one application is required to be considered for all scholarships in the Aspire Scholarship scheme, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Education Scholarship Scheme, and the UQ Residential Scholarship scheme.
