About this opportunity
The St John's College Mellick Families Residential Scholarship is part of the UQ Residential Scholarships Scheme and provides $4,500 towards accommodation fees for domestic students enrolled full-time at the University of Queensland who are residents at St John's College and can demonstrate financial hardship.
Established in 2023 by St John's College and the Mellick Families from North Queensland under the Create Change Scholarship Match initiative, this scholarship recognizes several Johnian alumni from the extended Mellick family who have had the opportunity to attend St John's College.
The scholarship supports one undergraduate student annually with the cost of residential fees at St John's College, with preference given to applicants matriculating from a State School in North Queensland. The annual distributions from the endowment may vary from year to year and could be more or less than the stated amount.
Applicants must be domestic students enrolled full-time in an approved program at UQ, be residents at St John's College, and provide documentary evidence of financial hardship such as Centrelink statements, ATO statements, or family income documentation.
