About This Opportunity

The St Leonard's Masters Scholarship is available for UK students pursuing one-year taught Masters programmes or Masters research programmes at the University of St Andrews. The scholarship application encourages students to draw on their academic, professional and life experiences to demonstrate resilience, resourcefulness and commitment, including excellence and leadership in areas such as sport, music, theatre or civic duty as well as in academic work. Selection is based on both financial need and academic excellence. Applicants must meet two or more criteria including being care experienced, having lower than average household income, having a proven record of academic excellence, demonstrating non-academic achievement and leadership qualities, or being part of a minority group. The scholarship provides varying levels of support based on household income, ranging from full tuition fees plus maintenance for care experienced students to £5,000 towards tuition for those with household incomes up to £39,999. Additional benefits may include maintenance allowances, employability funding, and accommodation reservations for eligible recipients. The scholarship is only available for the first year of study for two-year Masters research programmes. It is not available for doctoral degrees, postgraduate certificates or diplomas, or online programmes.
