About This Opportunity

The St Nicholas Scholarship is funded by the St Nicholas Educational Trust to support students from Newcastle wishing to study at Durham University. The Trust began in 1847 as the Ragged Boys School, Newcastle, with aims to enable poor children living within the parish of St. Nicholas to obtain a good education. Durham University is delighted to announce that the Trust has very generously provided funds to support students from Newcastle. The scholarship provides a stipend of £2,500 per year for the duration of the undergraduate programme at Durham University, with two awards available. Recipients must have regularly attended a full-time educational course from age 16, have a household income below £42,875 based on Student Finance England assessment (preference given to those below £25,000), and be resident in one of the 26 administrative wards of Newcastle City Council at the point of submitting a UCAS application.
