Standardbred Enthusiasts Equine Externship Award

The Standardbred Enthusiasts Equine Externship Award is granted on an annual basis to a student in the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program at the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC). This award supports students who are normally residents in the Atlantic Provinces and have demonstrated interest and/or commitment to equine medicine. The award is specifically designed to help students who intend to engage in external elective(s) outside of Atlantic Canada in the area of equine medicine, and/or have an interest in pursuing an equine internship. If there are two or more equally qualifying candidates, preference will be given to a student who is normally resident in Prince Edward Island. This award was established in April 2018 through the generosity of anonymous donors who provided unrestricted support to the Atlantic Veterinary College, which was then designated to create two new awards for AVC students.
