About This Opportunity

The STAR Scholarships are funded by generous donations from alumni and a number of external organisations to provide opportunities for undergraduate students from disadvantaged backgrounds to study at the University of Strathclyde. The scholarship provides £1,500 per annum payable from the date the scholarship is awarded. These scholarships are specifically designed to support students entering the University for the first time from Scottish secondary schools with low progression rates to higher education, students residing in the most deprived areas of Scotland (SIMD Quintile 1), or those who have received Educational Maintenance Allowance (EMA) or free school meals in the past three years. The scholarship helps with living costs and typically runs for 4 years, though it may extend to 5 years for longer courses. Eligible applicants who indicate they are carers or estranged students will be prioritized for these awards.
