Statsbidrag för kvalitetshöjande åtgärder i förskolan 2026

This is a Swedish state grant program designed to support quality-enhancing measures in preschools for the year 2026. The grant aims to help preschools improve the quality of education and care by addressing three main areas: maintaining appropriate group sizes according to national guidelines, retaining or recruiting preschool staff, and providing professional development opportunities for preschool teachers and other staff working with children. The total funding available for 2026 is 3,086,000,000 SEK. The grant is administered by Skolverket (the Swedish National Agency for Education) and can only be applied for by municipalities, though the funds can be used for both municipal and independent preschools. Applications are submitted through an electronic service, with the application period running from January 15 to February 16, 2026. Payments are made in two installments: 50% upon approval and the remaining 50% in September 2026. Recipients must report on how the funds were used between March 1 and April 1, 2027.
