About this opportunity
Folkhälsomyndigheten offers nine million Swedish kronor in state grants to civil society organizations whose main activity promotes health through physical activity and movement, and which are not covered by established sports or outdoor life support systems. The purpose of the grant is to strengthen and create additional pathways to increased movement and active leisure for people who are not currently sufficiently reached by traditional sports and outdoor life movements. The initiative aims to improve public health and promote equality by strengthening and developing opportunities for increased movement and active leisure. It specifically targets groups most affected by ill health, with the goal of reducing health disparities. Organizations must offer free-of-charge activities, have operated movement-promoting activities in Sweden for at least two years prior to application, and not receive other state support for the same activities in 2026. Priority is given to applications targeting groups at greater risk of ill health, with geographical spread across multiple locations in the country, and demonstrating active outreach work to reach groups that otherwise have difficulty participating in physical activity.
