About this opportunity
The Stella Knoebel and Mary Jean Carter Scholarship was established to financially assist serious piano and/or organ students in obtaining a college degree, preferably in music education. Stella Knoebel was a piano teacher in Wenatchee who encouraged and mentored Mary Jean Carter in developing her own piano teaching studio. Mary Jean loved to share her knowledge with developing piano and organ students and hoped this scholarship would enable future students to become music teachers. The scholarship is available to graduating seniors or non-traditional students from Chelan, Douglas or Okanogan counties who are accepted at an accredited educational program in Washington state. Applicants must be enrolled full-time with a major or minor in music and be passionate and experienced organists or pianists, with organists receiving priority. Establishing this scholarship was Mary Jean's way of continuing to share the joy of music with future generations.
