Stenstipendium

Östra Göinge kommun's Stenstipendium (Stone Scholarship) is awarded every other year to artists or stone craftspeople. The scholarship of 60,000 Swedish kronor supports artists who wish to develop their skills working with stone or established artists wanting to undertake a new or larger stone art project. The scholarship is designed as an educational and development opportunity where the recipient learns to work in stone or further develops their stone-working knowledge. The recipient is given the opportunity, when possible, to work for several months within the municipality's stone industry. The scholarship period begins at the award ceremony and concludes at the next scholarship presentation, when the recipient exhibits their work(s) in Östra Göinge municipality. The resulting works remain the artist's property but must be exhibited in Östra Göinge kommun for five years if the municipality so wishes. Recipients must acknowledge and reference the Stenstipendium in Östra Göinge kommun in any future exhibitions or placements of the works.
