Stephan V. Benediktson Scholarship

The Society of Petroleum Engineers Canadian Educational Foundation awards the Stephan V. Benediktson Scholarship to the top applicant in Canada pursuing a degree or diploma with intentions to enter the Energy Industry upon graduation. Preference is given to those who are enrolled in a petroleum engineering program. The top selected applicant receives the Stephan V. Benediktson Scholarship of $3,000 CAD and a SPECEF Award Scholarship of $2,500 CAD, totaling $5,500 CAD. The scholarship was established through a generous donation by Mr. Stephan Benediktson in 2016 to enhance the education of future Canadian engineers. Mr. Benediktson, a Professional Engineer who spent nearly 60 years in the international oil business, valued education highly as it shaped his career, and he hoped the scholarship would motivate students to work hard and study seriously. Recipients are selected through a competitive process by a committee, with applications automatically qualifying for General and B. Hanson Scholarship consideration as well.
