About this opportunity
The Steven B. Sample Honors Scholarship was established in 2004 by Jeremy M. Jacobs, Stanford Lipsey, Robert G. Wilmers, and the directors of Moog, Inc. to honor former University at Buffalo president Stephen B. Sample. This scholarship recognizes newly admitted freshmen who have been accepted into both the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the University Honors College at the University at Buffalo.
The scholarship provides up to $7,000 toward tuition and fees. It is renewable for up to four years, provided the student continues to meet eligibility requirements. Applicants must be New York State residents at the time of application.
Depending on availability of funds, new scholars may not be selected every year. Recipients are expected to maintain their standing in both the School of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the University Honors College to continue receiving the scholarship.
