About this opportunity
Every year, the Pacific Salmon Foundation's Stewardship Community Bursary program awards bursaries worth $2,500 to support multiple students in British Columbia and the Yukon with a passion for salmon conservation and restoration. By alleviating financial barriers, the program aims to foster the next generation of salmon stewards dedicated to advancing salmon recovery. The program is designed specifically for students enrolled full-time in at least their second year at a recognized B.C. or Yukon college, university, or technical institute, pursuing programs related to Pacific salmon. Applicants must demonstrate financial need and be residents of B.C. or the Yukon. Priority is given to applicants with demonstrated volunteer or work experience in salmon stewardship groups. The bursary supports emerging salmon stewards who are grappling with rising tuition costs and the increasing cost of living, helping to reduce financial barriers for passionate students dedicated to salmon conservation and restoration.
