About This Opportunity
The Längmanska Cultural Foundation provides grants to both individuals and organizations for special projects within humanities, natural sciences, arts and literature, and public education. Grants are primarily awarded for specific purposes, not for ongoing operations or periodic publications. Cultural societies, institutions, or associations may receive grants only for specific tasks or publications that cannot be accommodated through their regular activities. The foundation does not provide grants for financing one's own education, nor does it award grants retroactively for work that is already completed at the time of distribution. The foundation was established in 1859 based on capital bequeathed by Finnish timber merchant Erik Johan Längman, with the first distribution taking place in 1919.
